A hydrosol, also known as flower water, is the water remaining after the distillation of botanical materials such as flowers or leaves. This same process produces essential oils, which naturally separate from the hydrosol and rise to the top during distillation. The hydrosol is separated from the essential oil, and used as a hydrating facial water, that can be blended into creams or used alone. and Hydrosols are highly compatible with the skin’s barrier and are an essential step in any skincare routine. By closely resembling the skin’s natural pH, hydrosols help protect and regenerate the skin’s hydrolipidic layer, the outermost defense against external stressors like bacteria, pollution, and environmental damage.
